Send A Cup Round Up

Send A Cup Round Up

In mid-April, we began our "Send A Cup" initiative where we subsidized the cost of a cup of coffee to be sent to healthcare workers on the front lines in New York City. This grew into a partnership with Birch Coffee, Everyman Espresso, Bird & Branch, Oatly, and Dough Donuts in which #NYLovesCoffee was born. A new site was created as a one-stop shop to help the coffee community in the city try and stay afloat during these uncertain times, including links to donation funds for healthcare workers, local businesses to support, and the NYC Barista Relief Fund.

After 3 months, we have donated 3,000 cups to seven different hospitals from Manhattan to Long Island. We'd like to thank our community immensely for their ability to band together and direct our efforts towards the heroes who are the backbone of getting us through this pandemic. There is no way we would be able to do reach the scale we did without your generosity. It is moments like these where the strength of New York and its unified communities are undeniable. This small program has provided us a small glimpse of a light at the end of the tunnel, and we hope it does the same for you. We hope to serve you all to thank you in person as soon as (safely) possible.

Our latest visit was to the New York-Presbyterian hospital in Queens on July 15th. Thanks to your donations, we were able to bring 450 coffees, juices, and breakfast cups. We'd like to give a special shoutout to Cynthia Pan, one of our loyal customers and Chief of Geriatrics at this hospital branch who reached out to us. We were so glad to reconnect with our Bean & Bean community and give back to the healthcare workers who are fighting to keep us all safe. Our usual distributors were unable to help us out for this trip, so we got the whole family together and somehow fit all the food & drink as well as four adults into one car! It was hectic, but well worth it.
