Burundi Incuti Bourbon Washed
Roast Level: LIGHT
Tasting notes: Black currant, orange, banana, strawberry, chocolate, red wine, complex acidity
Grown near a high-altitude rainforest among tea, banana, bean, and cassava plants, these exceptional Bourbon coffee cherries are called Incuti. In Kirundi, incuti means relative, but it can also mean friend. A group of local farmers began working with the Dushime® premium program after learning about its impact in neighboring provinces.
Through Dushime®, they receive a second payment after their coffees are sold, rewarding quality and creating greater economic stability. These premiums help support families, improve processing, and strengthen the resilience of farming communities. The result is a cup that is both vibrant and layered, with fruit-forward sweetness, wine-like depth, and a lively, complex acidity.
