Founded in 1918, Lamastus Family Estates includes Elida Estate, which benefits from unique microclimates and microorganisms due to its distinct terroir.
Elida coffee, grown in Baru Volcano National Park, matures slowly in a cool, misty microclimate, developing complex flavors. The beans are harvested at peak ripeness and undergo meticulous processing, including pulping and fermenting for 30 to 40 hours under controlled temperatures, followed by 15 to 20 days of sun-drying.
Lamastus Family Estates has won 1st prize in Best of Panama in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2024. Their business is managed by Wilford Lamastus Sr., his wife, Velia, and their son, Wilford Jr.
Fun fact: Elida Gesha was featured in "Billions” and holds the record for the most expensive coffee at $6032 per pound.
The coffee was harvested in March 2024 and arrived at Bean & Bean’s roastery in June 2024. This coffee will only be roasted on select days to ensure maximum freshness. A 2-3 week wait to receive the coffee after ordering should be expected.
